Home Server Technologies Inc. Introduces Wireless Media Stick™ at
2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES)
Las Vegas, Nevada, January 7, 2010 – Home Server Technologies Inc. (HSTi) unveiled the Wireless Media Stick™ today. HSTi, located in CES booth #35916, is demonstrating the product to illustrate an innovative new way for users to easily access and share media files by streaming them via a standard USB port interface on an audio/visual playback device (DVD player, TV, stereo, digital photo frame).
The Wireless Media Stick™ is a virtual mass storage device that streams videos, photos and music stored on any shared computer or mass storage device within your home/office network by utilizing your existing wireless router. It eliminates the need for a media storage device (i.e. computer connected to your DVD/Blu-ray player, TV, digital picture frame or stereo). It is compatible with virtually any manufacturer’s audio/visual device that supports USB 2.0 (viewing/playing of stored media through the USB port) and utilizes a structured directory format. The technology is managed by a simple and intuitive web-based interface accessible from any computer in your home. You do not need to reprogram the Wireless Media Stick™ when you store new media; it automatically discovers it. In addition, you can use your playback device’s existing remote control unit, so it is very easy to use.
“We know many consumers are not tech savvy but still want to be able to view their vacation photos, stored videos or favourite music with their friends,” said Ramesh Uppal, President/CEO of Home Server Technologies Inc. “We wanted to provide users with the ability to access and share their media which could be stored anywhere in the world, in the most cost effective and easy to use method possible. We believe the Wireless Media Stick™ accomplishes these goals.”
